What to do in case of errors or problems with Iminent?

If you encounter any issues, errors or problems with any of the Iminent services, you can try to find the solution in our Frequently Asked Questions section below or you can contact us directly via support@iminent.com.
Please try to give us a detailed description of the situation in which you encounter the specific problem on your system, it will help the Support Team to identify and give you exact instructions on how to fix it.
In some cases we may need to ask for your permission to speak online via Messenger or your preferred IM channel.

Iminent Minibar

Q: What are the requirements for Iminent to work properly?

A: Iminent needs at least 512 MB of RAM, a 32bit or 64 bit operating system (we work with Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7), the latest Flash Player version available, Windows Live Messenger 8.5 or higher, Yahoo! Messenger 8.1 or higher or AIM 6 or higher. Also, make sure you have administrative rights otherwise your operating system will not allow you to install any kind of software.

Q: Does Iminent work with polygamy Messengers?

A: Yes, the Iminent Minibar works with multiple versions of Windows Live Messenger (versions 8.5, 9.0 stable) and Yahoo! Messenger (version 8.1, 9.0 stable)! It does not, however, work with other polygamy software such as Multimessengers or anything similar.

Q: After uninstalling Iminent, the Minibar still appears! How can I remove it completely?

A: Have you correctly uninstalled the Iminent Minibar? Please make sure you went through these steps: HERE . If these steps did not work for you please contact support@iminent.com.

Q: I have correctly installed the Iminent Minibar, but it doesn’t appear, why?

A: If you installed Iminent correctly and you know that it is running, try minimizing and maximizing your chat window, or restart your Messenger. You can restart your Messenger by right clicking on the icon of your IM Client (Yahoo messenger, Windows Live Messenger or AIM ), then clicking on Exit and starting it again. These actions should force Iminent to initialize.

Q: I can’t install Iminent! Help!

A: First of all make sure your system is compatible with Iminent. Check the Help section for Compatibility. Then check you downloaded the setup file completely. If not, download it again from our website HERE. It should run smoothly if the two conditions were fulfilled. If you get any errors or malfunctions, contact us at support@iminent.com

Q: I just installed Iminent Minibar and I don’t know what to do. Help me!

A: Ok, you installed it, now follow these steps:

  • - Open Iminent;
  • - Log in to your Messenger;
  • - Open a conversation with one of your friends;
  • - Type something (you should get a bar at the top of your chat box);
  • - Click any of the Content icons and start sending fun;

Q: Can I organize Emoticons, Big Emos and Video Winks?

A: Yes, you can. For a quicker access to your favorite ones, simply right click and choose "Add to My Stuff Favorites" or drag and drop them there and you’ll find them at the top of the section!

Q: How do I change the language of my Iminent Minibar?

A: If you want Iminent in another language you will need to uninstall it and then get the latest version from our website http://www.iminent.com/Download/. You will be asked to choose the language before the installation starts.

Q: How can I check which Iminent version I have?

A: In order to find out your Iminent version you will have to click on the last icon on the right (in the contact list toolbar), then go to “Other Options” and click on “About”.

Q: Do I have to pay in order to use Iminent?

A: You don’t have to pay anything! Iminent is completely free, created for you and your Messenger friends.

Q: Why does my antivirus block Iminent?

A: First of all you need to know that we guarantee that our software does not contain any Malware or viruses. You can use it safely, without worrying. Some Antivirus software, if set on “High security” informs the user of any attempt to access the Internet. Iminent contacts the Iminent servers in order to get the latest content, through Internet, so this may be the reason your Antivirus is detecting Iminent.

Q: What do I do if I get the message: “Error during installation of assembly”?

A: Not a common software error, but this can be fixed by uninstalling older versions of the .NET Framework and installing the latest one. Check the official Microsoft website for the latest .NET Framework. After installing, no such error will appear again.

Q: After having installed Iminent I can't connect to messenger anymore, why?

A: Please follow these steps in order to fix this issue:

  • 1. Close your Messenger and Iminent processes from “Task Manager” (ctrl+alt+delete)
  • 2. Then start your Messenger and Iminent manually by double clicking each icon (you can also find them in your Start Programs).
This should fix your problem but if it does not, please contact the support: support@iminent.com

Q: How can I remove Iminent on Windows XP?

A: Iminent is very easy to uninstall and to completely remove from your system by using the Add/Remove Programs in your Control Panel.

Q: How can I remove Iminent on Windows Vista/Windows 7?

A: Iminent is very easy to uninstall and to completely remove from your system by using the Programs and Features option in your Control Panel.

Iminent Minibar in Webmail

Q: What is the Iminent Minibar for Webmail?

A: The Iminent Minibar for Webmail is a service which allows you to add a personal touch and flare to your e-mails with all sorts of Emoticons, Big Emos and Winks at your fingertips!

Q: How can I get the Iminent Minibar for Webmail?

A: To get the Iminent Minibar for Webmail you will need to download and install our Iminent software. Click on this link to download it directly: http://www.iminent.com/Download. Iminent for Webmail is compatible with Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, AOL Mail and Hotmail.

Q: Where can I find the Iminent Minibar for Webmail?

A: After you install Iminent, the Iminent Minibar for Webmail service will be found in your e-mail. Choose to compose a new message and you will see the Iminent Minibar for Webmail.

Q: How can I use the Iminent Minibar for Webmail?

A: To use Iminent for Webmail you need to create a new e-mail message and then choose from the Iminent Minibar the content that you would like to send. Many categories of Emoticons, Big Emos and Winks are ready in order to add a personalized touch to your message. Get emotional!

Q: Is the Iminent Minibar for Webmail compatible with all e-mail servers out there?

A: The Iminent Minibar for Webmail is compatible with the most commonly used e-mail clients: Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail, AOL and Gmail.

Q: I am using Yahoo Mail Classic. Why can’t I use the Iminent Minibar for Webmail?

A: You would need to use the new Yahoo! Mail in order for Iminent Minibar for Webmail to work. Click the “Try the new Yahoo! Mail” link at the top right of your screen if you would like to change this.

Q: Do my friends need to have Iminent Minibar installed to see what I send?

A: Not necessarily, though your friends will need to have Iminent installed if you send any Winks. For Emoticons and Big Emos however, they can see them without any additional software installed. But if they would like to send some as well, they will need to install Iminent Minibar too.

Q: Do I have to pay for the Iminent Minibar for Webmail?

A: Absolutely not, Iminent Minibar in Webmail is completely free! There are no hidden costs.

Q: How to disable the Iminent Minibar for Webmail from Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox?

A: In order to disable the Iminent Minibar for Webmail from Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox you will need to follow a couple easy steps:

  • If you use Internet Explorer:
  • 1. Open your Internet Explorer browser and click on “Tools” and then choose “Manage add-ons”
  • 2. Scroll down until you see “IMinent WebBooster” and click on “disable”.
  • If you use Mozilla Firefox:
  • 1. Open your Mozilla Firefox browser and click on “Tools” and then choose “Add-ons”
  • 2. Scroll down until you see “IMinent WebBooster” and click on “disable”.

Q: I want to keep the Iminent Minibar for my messenger but how can I uninstall Iminent for Webmail ?

A: If you want to keep the Iminent Minibar for your Messenger you will also have to keep the Iminent Minibar for Webmail. Uninstalling the Iminent Minibar for Webmail will remove both of them.

Q: Why doesn’t the Iminent Minibar for Webmail appear in my Gmail?

A: If you encounter this problem please follow these steps:

  • 1. Open your Internet Explorer >Sign into your gmail account>Settings>Browser connection>Select “Don’t always use https”>Save Changes.
  • 2. Sign out from your gmail account> Restart Internet Explorer>Sign into the account >Go to “Compose Mail” and Iminent for Webmail should appear.

Q:The Iminent Minibar for Webmail appears but not its content, why?

A: In order to solve the issue: open Internet Explorer click on Tools>Internet Options> General> Browsing History> Delete… and then restart Internet Explorer. This should fix your problem.

Q: Why does the Iminent Minibar for Webmail disappear?

A: This may happen because the Iminent Minibar for Webmail was somehow disabled. In order to fix this issue please follow these steps:

  • For Internet Explorer:
  • 1. Tools> Manage add-ons
  • 2. Scroll down until you see “IMinent WebBooster” and click on “enable”.
  • For Mozilla Firefox:
  • 1. Tools>Add-ons
  • 2. Scroll down until you see “IMinent WebBooster” and click on “enable”.

The Content Window

Q: What is the Content Window?

A: The Content Window is a fast and flexible way of browsing Emoticons, Big Emos, Mood Avatars, Winks and Video Winks.

Q: Can I maximize the content so I can see it better?

A: No, that would take up too much space, but you can see Video Winks in bigger if you place your mouse over them.

Q: Can I create my content from the Content Manager too?

A: Yes, you can quickly create Emoticons and Video Winks by using the same icons that you normally use, situated in the top right corner of your Content Window!

Emoticons

Q: I have downloaded Emoticons but I can’t find them!

A: Emoticons and BigEmos are not for download on your pc! They are absolutely free but only to be used from the Iminent application. Click on the Emoticon icon to get access to the entire collection. You can also load emoticons from our website to your own Iminent, just look through the emoticons until you find one that you want and hit the Download button.

Q: My friends don’t see Emoticons, they see numbers instead. What can I do?

A: If you encounter this issue please contact us at support@iminent.com to get the latest working solution.

Q: What is “Make your Emoticons”?

A: Make your Emoticons is an exclusive feature within Iminent which allows you to create your own Emoticons with nothing more than your webcam or from one of the images you have on your computer. There are two buttons - Create from image and Create from webcam. With this feature you can create your own personalized Emoticons and extend the horizon of the predefined packs offered by your Messenger.

Q: Where do I find “Make your Emoticons”?

A: You first need to be engaged in a conversation with one of your Messenger contacts. You should see a bar in your conversation window, right above the text box. Open the Emoticon tab. The two Make your Emoticons icons can be found at the top of the window, to the right. You can also find these two icons in the bar situated at the top of your contact list.

Q: Why can’t I find my webcam in the “Make your Emoticons” drop-down menu?

A: Check if your webcam is installed properly and if it’s connected to your computer. If everything is in order and your hardware is still not available, then you should probably contact your webcam provider or Iminent Customer Care at support@iminent.com.

Q: When I try to create my Emoticons I get an error message, what must I do?

A: Sometimes, the encoding process is not running correctly. In order to fix this, close the window and try again.

Q: What kind of file can I Emoticonize?

A: For now you can Emoticonize the following types of images: JPEG, PNG, animated GIF.

Q: Can I remove an Emoticon from Iminent?

A: We are sorry but you can’t remove any of the Emoticons provided to you within Iminent separately. If you do not like some of the Emoticons, try to make your own selection and add the ones you use most in the Favorites section.

Q: How do I preview Emoticons, Winks, and Pranks etc. in the Iminent Minibar?

A: You are able to see the preview of Emoticons, Big Emos, Video Winks and Mood Avatars oin Iminent if you place your mouse over them before using them in your conversation window. Unfortunately this option is not available yet in Iminent for Winks and Pranks, the only way you can view them is to send them directly.

BigEmos

Q: What are the BigEmos?

A: BigEmos are large emoticons of various types. They are 250 pixels wide, five times wider than the average emoticon. You can find all of them in the Iminent bar in your chat window, represented by an icon with a double smiley face.

Q: I have downloaded BigEmos but I can’t find them!

A: Emoticons and BigEmos are not to be downloaded onto your pc! They are absolutely free but only to be used from the Iminent application. Click the BigEmos icon to get access to the entire collection. You can also load BigEmos from our website to your own Iminent, just browse the BigEmos that you want and hit the Download button.

Q: My friends don’t see BigEmos, they see numbers instead. What can I do?

Winks

Q: What are Winks for?

A: The wink service allows users to send special Winks with superior sound and visual effects. They offer a better solution for IM experience and entertainment, better than the set winks offered by your Messenger or other Messenger addons.

Q: Can I create my own Winks?

A: Sorry, this process is too complicated right now in order to offer our users the possibility of creating their own Winks. We shall see if and how we shall insert this option in the future. Stay tuned for such news!

Q: Are Winks available with Yahoo! Messenger?

A: Yes, good news! Winks work with the latest version of Yahoo! Messenger, but under the condition that both users are running Iminent. However, if you encounter errors in the use of Winks with Yahoo! Messenger, please report them to support@iminent.com

Q: My friend didn’t receive my Wink. Why?

A: There are different reasons for which your friend might not receive the Winks you send them. Check together the following: check if the latest version of Flash Player is installed, check if your friend has the latest version of Windows Live Messenger/Yahoo! Messenger installed as well as the latest Iminent and check your Internet Connection as a slow one might interfere with the time it takes for the animation to load. If your friend still can’t see the Winks, contact us at support@iminent.com.

Q: How do I uninstall Winks?

A: We are sorry but winks cannot be removed separately from Iminent. If you do not like some of the Winks, try to make your own selection in the Favorites section and avoid the ones you don't like.

Video Winks

Q: What are Video Winks? Where can I find them?

A: Video Winks are short videos that you can send in exactly the same way you send winks. You can send other users’ Video Winks or even create your own by uploading your favorite videos or by recording yourself with your webcam. Click on the Video Winks icon to get access to Top Video Winks and to the Webcam Record Feature.

Q: I sent a Video Wink and my friend didn’t receive it. Why?

A: Unfortunately, in order to be played live, Video Winks require both the latest version of Windows Live Messenger/Yahoo! Messenger and also Iminent to run on both sides. Your friend needs to get the latest version of Iminent from our website.

Q: Can I upload my own Video Winks?

A: Yes, sure you can! That is the reason why we created Video Winks in the first place! You can create short videos that you can easily send exactly the same way you send winks. Just click on the Video Wink Upload button and follow the instructions.

Q: Can I use my webcam to create Video Winks?

A: Yes, you can do that too. The Use my webcam icon can be found in the Video Winks section, next to the Upload icon (top, right). You first select your webcam and configure it, and then you hit the Record my webcam button. While you’re recording the scene, you will be able to see the length of the video. Click on the same button again to stop the recording session. The video will instantly be encoded and uploaded to your account so that you can use it immediately in your chat sessions.

Q: I tried to create a Video Wink with my webcam but I got an error message. What do I do?

A: Try to check if your webcam is working properly and if everything is plugged in, especially your microphone! You can’t have Video Winks without sound, now, can you? Then check if the codecs you have on your system are compatible with Iminent (We work great with K-Lite CodecPack Basic 3.8.0). Also, if you’re trying to upload a .mov, check if you have QuickTime installed on your system. Note: Please remove all other codecs before installing K-lite CodecPack, otherwise you may encounter codec conflicts leading to nothing on your system working as it should.

Q: I don’t want others to see my Video Winks, I only want to send my Video Winks to my friends. Can I do that?

A: Yes, sure. When you create a Video Wink you have the possibility of setting it as Private or Public (You can find this in the final step of the Upload process, together with Title and Description). Set it as Private if you don’t want to show it to anybody else but your contacts and nobody else will be able to see it or even search for it.

Q: Where can I find my Video Winks after creating them?

A: You can find the Video Winks that you created in your Video Winks service, in the section “My favorites”.

Buddy Bubbles

Q: What is Buddy Bubble for?

A: Buddy Bubble is a feature which allows users to decorate their own texts with many different types of speech bubbles designed to express an entire range of moods and emotions. Buddy Bubbles are for fun, they are created for IM addicts who want to take their messaging to a new and entertaining level.

Q: My message was sent incomplete, why does Buddy Bubble do that?

A: There is a limit of 100 characters to how much text can fit into a Buddy Bubble. Your message will be automatically truncated from 100 characters onward in order to fit within the speech bubble. This prevents messages from becoming hard to read for your buddies.

Why do I see the message “To use Buddy Bubbles you must first enter text in the conversation window”?

A: In order to use Buddy Bubbles, you need to apply them to text, so start by writing something in one of your conversation windows (don’t send it yet!), and you will be able to pick a Buddy Bubble and decorate what you have typed, according to your tastes and wishes. When there is text in the message window, you will never see the error message above!

Q: Can I create my own Buddy Bubble?

A: For the moment you can only use our predefined Buddy Bubbles, but stay tuned to our website http://www.iminent.com for more updates!

Q: Is Buddy Bubble available for Yahoo! Messenger also?

A: Yes, Buddy Bubble is available for Yahoo! Messenger also! The icon is represented by an emoticon with a speech bubble.

Q: Can I download Buddy Bubbles and use them separately?

A: Buddy Bubbles are currently only working with our free add-on software for Messenger - Iminent. They cannot be downloaded but they can be used at any time for free, with Iminent.

Fire Nudge

Q: What is FireNudge and where do I find FireNudge?

A: Superman, Batman, FireNudge. They’re quite similar, aren’t they? With or without superpowers, FireNudge is a feature included in your Iminent which sends, when clicked on, a set of 5 Nudges to the IM buddy that you wish to drive insane. It’s the first icon in your Iminent bar (look for it in your chat window).

Q: Can I use FireNudge with my Yahoo! Messenger?

A: Sure, FireNudge is compatible with both Windows Live Messenger as well as Yahoo! Messenger 8.1 or higher. The only condition is that your buddy also has Iminent installed.

Q: Why does the FireNudge button turn inactive when I FireNudge someone?

A: For security and moral reasons, there is a delay of 10 seconds between the FireNudges you can send in the same conversation window. This is so that your friends’ Messenger doesn’t freeze and so that you don’t cause anybody any harm. Let’s limit FireNudge to simple fun, ok?

Mood Avatars

Q: Why is a Mood Avatar better than a normal avatar?

A: Your normal avatar does not react to your key sequences. Every IM addict uses the text smiley the tongue smiley and others. Mood Avatars react to these text smileys and they transform according to the correct mood.

Q: Why isn’t my Mood Avatar animated?

A: Mood Avatars are always animated in WLM 9.0 or higher (all versions earlier than WLM 9.0 will show static Mood Avatars), but due to some problems of transfer you may notice that Mood Avatars don’t react. Simply exit your Messenger and then sign back in. Mood Avatars should then work now with any of the mood key sequences (e.g.: :P, :-P, etc.). By the way, Mood Avatars only work when your Iminent is running!

Q: How do I remove Mood Avatars?

A: The process to remove Mood Avatars is extrememly simple and, because of this, no disable button is available. In order to change your avatar to a simple, normal one, you just need to select another image. If you want to go back to using Mood Avatars, simply select one again from the Iminent bar.

Q: Can I create my own Mood Avatar?

A: For now, the service only allows predefined content to be used (content that only we create from cartoon characters that we also use for Emoticons and Big Emos) but maybe later on we shall add this possibility for users to create their own Mood Avatar Packs.

Q: Are Mood Avatars available for Yahoo! Messenger also?

A: Yes! Mood Avatars are compatible with Yahoo! Messenger. However, if you encounter any problems, please contact support@iminent.com.

Q: Can I download Mood Avatars?

A: No, Mood Avatars are not for download, but you can use them for free and in exclusivity with the latest version of Iminent provided for you at the following address: http://www.iminent.com/Download

Q: Why can’t I use Mood Avatars on AIM6?

A: We are sorry but Mood Avatars are not compatible with AIM6.

Pranks

Q: How can I download Pranks?

A: In order to get pranks please install Iminent. You will see this icon in your window.

Q: Why can’t my friends see my pranks?

A: There are different reasons why your friend might not receive the prank you send him or her. Check together the following: check if the latest version of Flash Player is installed, check if your friend has the latest version of Windows Live Messenger/Yahoo! Messenger/AIM installed as well as the latest version of Iminent and check your Internet Connection as a slow one might interfere with the time it takes for the animation to load. If your friend still can’t see the Pranks, contact us at support@iminent.com

Q: How do I uninstall Pranks?

A: We are sorry but the Pranks cannot be separately removed from Iminent. If you do not like some of the Pranks, try to make your own selection and add them to the Favorites section.

Social Networks Minibar


Q: How can I use the Minibar on Social networks?

A: After you installed Iminent from http://www.iminent.com/Download/, sign in to your Social network account. You will see a bar appear every time you want to write a comment, a new status update, a private message, a news feed or something in your Social network Chat. The Minibar contains the following services: Emoticons, BigEmos, Winks, Symbols and amazing text effects. The current Minibar for Social networks is simple to use. Anytime you are writing a comment, a new status update, a private message, a news feed or you are chatting you will be able to also insert the content that you choose to send.

Q: Do my friends need to have Iminent installed in order to play Winks and view Emoticons, BigEmos or Text Effects?

A: Your friends need to have Iminent installed in order to play Winks and view Emoticons, BigEmos or Text Effects. In order to fix this problem, your friends will have to get the latest Iminent version available on our website http://www.iminent.com/Download/

Q: Why can't I see the Minibar on Social networks?

A: If the Social networks Minibar does not appear, even after the installation process, when writing a comment, a new status update, a private message or a news feed, please check if the browser add-on called Iminent WebBooster is enabled. Here's how you can enable this add-on:

  • For Internet Explorer :
  • 1 Open your Internet Explorer and go to Tools > Manage add-ons;
  • 2. Scroll down until you get to the Iminent WebBooster and click enable.
  • For Mozilla Firefox :
  • 1 Open your Mozilla Firefox and go to Tools > Add-ons;
  • 2. Scroll down until you get to the Iminent WebBooster and click enable.

If Iminent WebBooster is enabled please press F5 in order to refresh the page. Take into consideration that the Minibar for Social networks will only appear if you logged into your account from Internet Explorer, version 8 or higher or Mozilla Firefox version 3.6 or higher. If these steps did not help you, please try to reinstall the Minibar from this link: http://www.iminent.com/Download.

Q: Is the Minibar for Social networks compatible with Google Chrome?

A: Unfortunately the Minibar for Social networks is not compatible with Google Chrome. If you want to use the Minibar in your Social network you need to have one of the following browsers:

  • - Internet Explorer 8.0 or higher;
  • - Mozilla Firefox 3.6 or higher.

Q: How can I disable the Minibar from Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox?

A: In order to disable the Social network Minibar from Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox you will also need to disable Iminent in your Webmail. This means that you will also lose this service. If you decide to disable these two services follow these steps:

  • If you use Internet Explorer:
  • 1. Click on “Tools” and then choose “Manage add-ons” ;
  • 2. Scroll down until you see “Iminent WebBooster” and click on“disable”;
  • 3. Restart your Internet Explorer.
  • If you use Mozilla Firefox:
  • 1. Click on “Tools” and then choose “Add-ons” ;
  • 2. Scroll down until you see “Iminent WebBooster” and click on “disable”;
  • 3. Restart your Mozilla Firefox.

Q: How can I use Text Effects?

A: In order to use the Text Effects service in your comments, status, news feed, private messages and chat please write your message, select what you wrote and choose the effect that you want to apply to the selected text.

TV on Messenger

Q: How can I watch TV with my friends?

A: First of all you need to start a conversation with your friend that would like to watch TV on Messenger with you. Then you will need to click on the television icon on the Iminent toolbar. You will see a TV window and a button “Click here to watch TV with (your friend’s name will go here)”. Click it!

Q: How can I change the TV on Messenger channels?

A: As you are watching TV on Messenger, you just click the “Category” button and then choose the channel that you would like to watch. Surf through all of them and see what you like best!

Q: Is TV on Messenger free?

A: Yes, of course! TV on Messenger is completely free. In order to access it, all you have to do is download and install Iminent.

Games

Q: How to download Iminent Games?

A: Iminent Games are not for download but you can play them online if you download Iminent. Click here to download it: http://www.iminent.com/Download/

Q: I downloaded Iminent but I don’t know where the games are?

A: Open a conversation window and you will see this icon in the Iminent bar. Click on it in order to play a game.

Q: How can I play the Kung fu Koala Game?

A: Click on this icon in order to play. You will see another window open. Click and drag the bat that Koala Karateka has in his hands and then, don't let go of your right click and hit the turtle. Your hit must be strong in order to get a good score.

Q: If my friend does not have Iminent can he play Games?

A: No. For more fun, invite your friend to download Iminent in order to play together. Get Iminent: http://www.iminent.com/Download/

Q: How can I get more games?

Q: Do I have to pay in order to play games?

A: You don’t have to pay anything! The games are completely free.

Q: How do I uninstall the Games?

A: We are sorry but the games cannot be separately removed from Iminent.

Other Services

Q: What does it mean when you say you are going to reset my search settings?

A: Whenever Iminent updates to the latest version, your Home page and Search options may be also updated to the latest SearchTheWeb (or StartWeb) version, but only if you selected these options during the installation process.

Q: What changes are made when you update my search settings?

A: When we update your search settings we change: your home page, your browser’s default search, spelling error interception settings.

Q: How can I remove SearchTheWeb or StartWeb from my browser?

A: SearchTheWeb (or StartWeb) is very useful for online searches and browsing protection so please be sure you wish to remove it. In order to do so, go to your Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, look for SearchTheWeb (or StartWeb) and hit Remove. If you’re using Windows Vista or Windows 7 you can remove SearchtheWeb (or StartWeb) from the Programs and Feature options in your Control Panel.

Q: How to disable IMNews?

A: IMNews can be easily disabled. Just right click on it and uncheck it. It will not appear at the next launch.

Q: Why do I get the "New Tab Search" page?

A: During the installation of Iminent you agreed to use Iminent SearchTheWeb or Iminent StartWeb as your default search engine and on new tabs.

Q: How can I disable "New Tab Search" pages?

A: In order to disable "New Tab Search" pages, please open Internet Explorer, then open the tools menu, choose "Internet options", in the "Tabs" section click on "Settings" and modify the value of "When a new tab is opened, open:" to " "The new tab page". If you are using Firefox or Google Chrome browsers, you will need to uninstall Iminent in order to restore the default tab functionality.
